Any recommendations?
Nothing swanky, doesn't need to cater families
Thanks

I'm not a fan of Wetherspoons, but the one in Bournemouth is by far the worst one I have ever had the misfortune to enter. I will never return, even if the beer was free.
Sorry not a recommendation. AVOID.

Stu I totally agree. We work all over the country and Wetherspoons is often the place that’s reliable, open late enough and don’t care how dirty and smelly you are. In Bournemouth I’d rather go without…
I’d also not recommend The Stable if it’s still there. That’s the worst of that chain I’ve ever visited.
The Goat and Tricycle is good, but a bit out of town. Also Koh Thai is very good. I haven’t been for 3 or 4 years though.

60 Million Postcards is my favourite bar and serves food and good beer. Around the corner the Royal Exeter Hotel has an excellent cocktail bar. Pre covid they would both have bands at times. The former also ran good quizzes pre- covid. Every visit to Bournemouth I go to both.

Went to Bournemouth every year from 1986-1995. Went back in 2014 and hardly recognised the place.
Slightly further away, but Bistro on the Beach in Southbourne was quite nice and accommodating for families.

I went every year until I was 13
I haven't been since but was thinking of visiting in June for a few days. I could call in on my cousin who lives there.

Although I'm only 7 miles from Bournemouth, I can't say I've ever been to a pub or restaurant there!

I went once in 1978 and again (on a football-less football tour) in about 93/94. Any advice I could offer would be hopelessly out of date. I do remember there being a big KFC and a typically naff night club. The strangest thing is I don't remember any of the pubs we went in, although I expect that is where we would've spent most of our time.
Apologies for the lack of useful information, but I have enjoyed my trip down memory lane.
