57.5 Degrees of Pain
Mine is going horribly due to some viruses partying for a couple of weeks in my lungs. Glad I have a good base and no real goal for Boston other than sub-3 because I can't get any pace or consistency at the moment (with the exception of two races, one I should not have run in hindsight but did so when I thought I was recovering, the other I ran as well as possible because it is a big local event). Off for a week of snowboarding in France now, will not help the training but will allow the chest to fully recover I hope.

I''m pretty pleased with mine. I have decided to a tempt the sub 3 at Boston. My best is 2:58:30 at London last year so I am not sure how the uphill and downhill nature of Boston will affect me but I've decided to go for it anyway rather than just treat it as a holiday.
Speedwork is going well enough but I could do will getting in a couple more long runs sometime soon.

Sorry to hear you're fighting off a viral infection 57.5, but you seem to have things in perspective. PC, I'm going to bet on you to come in under 3. Sub-3 is not in my plans this year. I did run under 3 at Boston a couple of year ago, but depending on how the next 6 weeks goes, I may be in 3:07ish shape.

my training has been awful. Injury for 6 months after London last year meant I was starting from a very low level - only hit 40 miles/week again in Jan 2014. Looking for around 3:30 (3:08 last year)

Once a Sprinter ...
Traning going well. 23 hilly miles last Sunday complemented by a 10 mile MP run last week and a sub-21 parkrun 5k! Hoping to break my 1989 PB of 3:19:55!

Wow OaS. A 1989 PB is a stiff challenge. I equalled my 1991 10k PB last year after loads of effort, but still can't beat it.

Cheers for the vote of confidence Frank. I'm feeling pretty positive about the challenge although one of my colleagues who is a 2.55 marathoner missed out on the sub 3 two years ago at Boston coming in at 3.03. He's faster than me but I am still proceeding with a sense of optimism. Really looking forward to it. Union Jack running vest, name printed on it. Bring it on. (Could get a bit noisy I know)

Frank can I ask you how the drinks are distributed on the course. Is it plastic bottles or paper cups? In the UK for the big races it's generally plastic bottles with sports caps but the European marathons are all paper cups which do tend to slow you down as you try and drink them on the run.

PC, the water and Gatorade will be in paper cups.
