I have requested Cancer Ward from library its not one I would have picked in fact I rejected it from read a book from each year of your life but will give it a go

We have a copy on our shelves. Not mine, mind you. My wife has a few books of the 'Grim Russian Classics' variety. Odd really because she much prefers Historical Fiction like CJ Sansom nowadays.

I was looking to see if we had it and discovered we have a copy of The Shipping Forecast, which both of us have been threatening to read for years. Seems at least one of us already has.

I believe Cancer Ward was the inspiration for the hilarious ITV sitcom 'Only When I Laugh' starting Peter Bowles, James Bolam, and that other chap whose name no one can remember.
