Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I had to google urban fantasy as I was not sure what kind of books would be included.
It is definitely not the type of book that I would consider reading.

Harry Potter is UF, technically, I think. And pretty much anything with vampires, like The Twiglet Saga.

Urban Fantasy - a new term for me, too.

Any recommendations for a 5-year old who is keen on books, and on being read to?

(Sorry, I realise it's rather a change of subject).

The Harry Dresden books (Jim Butcher) are UF too - and the Peter Grant ones (Ben Aaronovitch).

I'd rather blithely assumed most people here would have read Rivers of London.

My bad. Sorry.

Columba - The Wrong Pong might be a good one (though possibly meant for slightly older children). It's about a family of trolls who come up through the toilet! Loads of yucky humour.
