Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

No, I've only read a couple of shorter pieces by Johnson. So many books, so little time. In physical form I have still to finish TLOB but instead I've started Heller's masterpiece Something Happened.

Now onto the final section of TLOB.

Someone - I've forgotten who, though could look back and find out - said he (I think it was a he) wasn't going to read it as he remembered the '80s and it was a decade he didn't want to relive. I felt rather the same; but actually my awareness of what was going on in the Wider World during the 80s was pretty hazy, as I gave birth in 1983, 1985 and 1988; and already had two older children; and was working part-time and intermittently. So quite interesting to see the decade from a point of view which takes in elections, MPs etc.

Interesting that you said travelogue Grep as I was thinking that way too, especially as we can’t go far at the moment. But the one I had in mind isn’t that easy to get.
I have a shortlist of 2 - one fiction, one non fiction. Both very different.
