If doing this means poor old Lord Fetch missing the first three years of his marriage and the site slowing down massively, I'd say it's a price not worth paying. Best to ignore the ones you find boring/unfunny/generally rubbish and, if you find a posting personally offensive, send the poster an Fmail saying you don't like it and would they stop doing it. that means if someone offends lots of people they get about 300 fmails: that might make them appreciate the impact of their comments.

I doubt it would be incredibly complicated to add something like this, but it would be something of a hit on site performance.
