Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Did a half on Sunday and due to it being very hot threw water all over myself to keep cool, the result of which was a very wet foot which then slid about in my shoe. For the last 3 mile I ran with a big blister on the ball of my foot. I do not usually get blisters but I have put a blister plaster on it but I can see it is still full of fluid (sorry if you are eating). Considering popping it but dont know which will heal better, popped or not popped. Just wondered what others do to deal with them so I can get back out there.

I love to pop mine!!!! I then delight in cutting away the skin flap & spraying the whole raw mincefest with dry antiseptic iodine stuff! I then cry like a girl for 10mins until it stops stinging! It knacks for a couple of hours but next day, right as rain! :-)

I usually use compeed plasters as I get them on the heel in new shoes. Normally wait until they go down themselves however had one that was there for a couple of days so I used a needle and drained in before I went to bed and it has dried out by morning. Then used the compeed stick to stop the rubbing

I haven't had a blister for ages and ages, but the most successful poilcy for me was to make a tiny pinprick hole with a sterilised needle, squeeze out the fluid and leave it to dry in the air.

The risk is getting it infected I guess.

you could thread a bit of wool through it to soak up the fluid ;)

My blisters usually resorb, but ball of foot Id probably pop and then Compeed

Sterilise your needle in a gas flame or some such first
