Mr Potato Head
Hi Mr Potato Head, just wanted to say welcome to the forum and that I'm impressed with your use of the "quote" facility - I still haven't got the hang of it after years!! Hope you can get your blisters sorted. haha thank you Another for compeed. I think supermarket similar brands are available though I've only used compeed. And as fetch said above, I think my feet have become hardened and so blisters - or at least the pain - are more minimal. I typically use compeed more to prevent the blisters actually getting worse or infected rather than any pain itself. But for that reason, I'd recommend compeed because they seem to allow the blisters to heal and not cause much trouble. In my earlier running days, I also used the compeed sticks around potential hot spots as a preventative measure. Oh, and I use two pairs of socks to try prevent friction. I think blisters is one of those issues where there's probably a million solutions and you have to trial and error around your individuality. going to try compels as well but going to need a loan for the miles I've got planned haha |

I know that my sister has suffered with bad blisters and uses a dressing called hypafix. (Can be bought online)

Hello Mr Potato Head (I loved saying that 🤣) have you tried 2 Toms? It's like the most expensive form of talcum powder you can buy but somehow silkier it's supposed to prevent blisters, didn't work for me but others I know swear by it. Alternatively if you get very sweaty feet dry spraying deodorant on them and finally use surgical spirit to toughen up the skin. None of these things actually worked for me because my blister is actually caused by pinching not rubbing and it still happens even with a compeed plaster on. If none of these and all the other suggestions work for you then yours might also be caused by pinching and a podiatrist/chiropodist might be your best bet. Wishing you lots of luck sorting it 🤞 |

I use the same "toe condoms" as TROSaracen 's sister. They're great for protecting my dodgy toenails too
