Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I only get 10 options and want 10 albums on each list. Maybe I will mix up the years and not just go chronologically....

Reserving the right to vote mischievously in that case, much as I do in Deathmatches :)

Will be interested once you hit the mid 80s onward (and maybe the odd one from the mid 70s if I'm lucky)

Another 68 year old here. I had a quick google, and albums, or at least artists, I remember

Meet the Supremes, by, yes, The Supremes
I left my heart in San Francisco, Tony Bennett
Telstar, The Sounds of the Tornadoes, The Tornadoes. (Telstar is well worth a listen for those that haven't heard of it)
Oh Pretty Woman, Roy Orbison

There was also The Beach Noys debut album - for historic value, but trashed on the web these days.

And not an album, to my knowledge, this stunner from 1962 by Bobby "Boris" Pickett & The Crypt-Kickers, to show it wasn't all 'dad' or ''grandad' music

Thanks um 🙏 if you click on the best ever albums link there are pages and pages of albums for each year not just a top ten. I'll add those to the extra poll when I create it 🙏

Late 70s onwards will be fun.

Checked and most of my faves are in the 10.

There's a Rumour that the end result is predictable 😉

But, I'm going to follow the thread, never know may well pick up some recommendations for stuff I've not heard of before.

Also, Switts would have loved this thread

How about going through 10 year jumps

1962, 1972, 1982, 1992 etc
Then play off the ‘2’ winners
Repeat 1963,1973,1983….then play off the ‘3’ winners.

Ah I would have suggested many albums before that. My money is firmly on a mid 90s album.

Switts is here for sure 🙏

Oh, so it's Radiohead vs Beatles vs Pink Floyd? Hopefully the Fetch electorate will upend that (although maybe not for the latter)

About This Thread

Hello pop pickers. OK the premise is simple. Over the next year or two I'm going to post a number of polls to find the best ever album according to Fetch users. Which will mean it is definitively the best album ever obviously 😉

I'm getting the lists of 10 from this website besteveralbums.com and also taking nominations.

The answer will be Astral Weeks 😉
