Hello pop pickers. OK the premise is simple. Over the next year or two I'm going to post a number of polls to find the best ever album according to Fetch users. Which will mean it is definitively the best album ever obviously 😉 I have posted the first poll here starting in 1962 which was basically when we started to see artists that are still seen as contemporary today. I'm getting the lists of 10 from this website besteveralbums.com and I'm going to take other nominations too and create another poll for the same year before we have a final for each year, then we will have a decade final then all the decade winners will have a grand final. So you can now nominate other albums for 1962 and if you agree with the nomination you can pin it. Also if you want to nominate a pre 1962 album please do and I'll create another poll for them too 😀 Yes there are huge holes in the research methodology but, well, there are huge holes in the first past the post system and we're all going to vote aren't we 😉 |

I haven’t heard all of these and don’t intend to, but I’ve voted based on what I have heard on the premise that if at age 68 I’ve not heard the others they’re probably not mainstream enough for me to want to.

Great list. Lots will know the Jazz Samba title track even if not by name. I had no idea Green Onions was from that early in the 60’s
