Hooray, hello all, well am feeling a bit fitter than I was a few weeks ago. Long way to go but still a good few weeks away too. Fair looking forward to it now after seeing this enthusiasm and positivity. Sounds like it's more than just a normal run,.... with a stop for a pub lunch on the way, that sounds ideal

It’s more a moving picnic than a marathon...

Fleecy's right. I ran it last year with 3 energy bars stuffed in various pockets of my shorts. Needless to say, when I crossed the finish line five & half hours later, they were still there.
To put things in to perspective, at the last aid station I was dunking bourbon biscuits into my tea. I doubt there's many marathons where you get that luxury.
Fleecy, if I remember correctly, didn't you & your friend stop off at the pub half way round for a pint of beer? Purely to re-hydrate of course.

Be careful Fleecy, there's been a couple of big rock falls along the Seven Sisters cliffs this year. We don't want you tottering over the edge.

I’m terrified of heights, I don’t go anywhere near the edge of the cliffs believe me! I feel a bit weak even watching the tourists do so (why picnic near the edge of a crumbling cliff?!)
