Stupid questions alert!! Is it just 15 runners for the World Championships? Were there more runners than 15 at the events? If so, what happens in terms of assists?

I am sure there were only 15 per country and winner from each country goes through to Bigs in Tennessee next year.

I think I remember that last year assists were also invited to Bigs. The rules are a bit vague. This page has the qualification details, I can't make head nor tail of it backyardultra.com

The 52 national championship winners get a place at Bigs next year, and then the 23 people on the "At Large" list (highest number of yards without winning a national championship) are invited...

The qualifying list is on the spreadsheet, on the Qualifying25 tab.

Any National Championship winner who exceeds 23 hours goes to Big's.
If a nation's runners decide to quit together, then there is no winner, and that place is voided.
The rest of the places are filled from the At Large (furthest distance in any event) list.
Denmark already have enough distance to guarantee the remaining runners are on the At Large.
Once they beat Harvey's 108, I expect they'll call it a day.

By the way, livestream for those not aware of it, especially as we get towards potential record territory.
