Lots of flames from a fire in town last night. Luckily the wind blew the smoke elsewhere. Little chance of saving the grade 2 listed building. Lots of noise but not from a fire alarm just the fire brigade.

New rumours are it's the second fire in that road in a week. Needing to count to 3 big fires in that street within 3 years. Not very good for the locals. No-one has lost a life that I'm aware of.

Planning permission refusal is normally what starts fires down here!

One naughty chap in a village near us bought a run down historical pub with a view to developing it as a caravan site. On a number of occasions he got knocked back by the planners. One day I was driving past and he was demolishing the pub. Our local council brought a criminal case and he was found guilty. Only the sentencing to be finalised. One big bowl of just desserts to go with his porridge.

That's the thing here, permission refused, fire starts, fire brigade used to take bets on where was next!
