I have the big lots-in-one Ninja, steam air fry mode is fab for all sorts of roasts and it gets used as a pressure. Cooker too. Couldn’t get even a small pizza in it though and since there are four of us it’s more efficient to cook them all at once in the oven. Haven’t persuaded it to cook Yorky puds properly either, but otherwise it’s very versatile and gets used pretty much daily. |

Mine is this one: uk.instantbrands.com Takes about 3 mins to heat up. It will be in use this evening to cook a frozen pie and at the same time roast some spuds. |

I am really tempted by the 15in1 Ninja (cousin has that one also at home, the 10in1 at the caravan) they are brilliant - but would I part with my 30yr old trusty slow cooker... There is only 2 of us so the dual drawer works so well as generally its only 1 drawer needed |

ninjakitchen.co.uk We have just got this one after not being able to decide for a while. We went for the flexidraw so we had the option to do bigger foods. Have used it everyday since its arrival. Even cooked my first cake yesterday. Like having the option of only using one side too. So far I am happy with it but still having fun playing. Other bonus is buying direct from Ninja you have 30 days trial and also get cash back on topcashback |

For reference, the pie instrux were fan oven 35-40 minutes at 200 degrees. It was perfectly done after 25 minutes at 180 in the air fryer.

Did anyone else watch the prog about air fryers on Ch5 last night? It was pretty crap, with various z-list celebs I'd never heard of prattling on. But there was a corker of a tip from chef Miguel Barclay for doing roast potatoes. Take your king edwards or maris pipers, about the size of your fist or cut in half to make them that size, scrub them clean then into the air fryer for 20 minutes at 190 deg. After that, when they're not too hot to handle peel them (the skin more or less pulls off although it is a little fiddly), then cut them in half, roll them in a decent glug of olive oil so they're properly coated, then into the air fryer again for 25 minutes or so. I've just done this and they came out as good as in the oven. Nicely browned and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Spot on, they were. Recommended! |
