That would be from a Fetch pub crawl. There's another on August bank holiday if you're in London

personally i think its a great idea to incorporate weights into your training, imo a lot of runners could prevent injury by doing some type of cross/strength training what ever that may be - if your not sure on the gym then how about a kettlebell class? or any type of bodypump style / pilates / yoga / circuit style class will include exercises that will strengthen postural & running muscles
i came back into running this year for a short time & i put my increased speed & lack of injury purely down to the strength training ive done over the last year

thanks Southwales- I do have a lack of coordination when it comes to classes in that when everyone is going one way, im usually the other ! pole is limited to the amount of people to laugh at me thats why I do that one !

I am sure that there would be plenty of offers of help if you want your pole-dancing form analysed!
Ditto the above re getting a trainer at the gym. You need specific advice about what to work on and how. I wish that I had been as sensible as you when I ran my marathon. I only concentrated on running and didn't consider general strength training to be important. A strong core will keep you in good shape and will maintain your running form in those last hellish few miles. Good luck

I too only ran my first marathon last year on running alone, and Im sure I would have been in less pain and faster this year ... I hope anyway !

I think light weights are okay but you'd be better working on your core - planks, pressups that sort of thing.
As opposed to pole-dancing which is just COR.

valuable lesson learnt as it still reminds me whenever I try and over run haha ! yes Manc was horrendous however Ive decided that the weather cannot be that bad 2 years in a row and theyve shifted the route and things so fingers crossed eh !
