Swim done, not the best or most enjoyable. Medium lane was full of slower medium swimmers so had to go in fast lane which puts me under pressure and I don't enjoy. Another swim done ✔

After a long wait I am scheduled for an actual event this weekend - except I am struggling with a sore thigh and not sure if I am going to make it. Hey ho I have some others in the diary for the autumn. |

Hello. I have been a bit AWOL - combination of tired, meh, and not really doing much running. I need a race to do. |

Thanks for the well wishes. He had a pretty rubbish night, but is less sore today. I’ve kept him off school for now, at least not-GCSE assessments can be done any time in the next 6 weeks. I think we’ll both be heading for an afternoon nap soon! Hope everyone else with rubbish sleep catches up tonight. Carp - what distance race would you fancy? Maybe start from there and then look what’s around??? I don’t know. But hope the meh-ness improves x |

Hope he makes a swift recovery, Yumee. Seems a few of us got nasty breaks in our exam years. Coincidence, of course For my part, I broke my wrist around new year - plenty time to recover, you might think, except I had Higher Music and my performance was violin and piano - to be taken in early March! I needed to nail all my Highers to get into law school so it was pretty important at the time. I also managed to get through an audition for the National Youth String Orchestra of Scotland that Spring though I think that was mostly on sympathy points rather than talent.

[does little dance] I have just booked 2 nights away in an apartment ALL BY MYSELF in May. It's only an hour from where I live and I will have a lovely Saturday dinner with my friend who will be staying nearby for a couple of weeks on a research break. There shall be running, cycling, swimming and much eating and lounging about in my pants 3 weeks before the marathon so the last LSR should be that weekend.

Sounds great, ITG I have received notification that I've lost control of my Florence conquercise zones I'm just envious that a Fetchie has escaped the UK even if Italy is scarcely a covid free area GM very kindly pointed out something I'd missed about my run this morning - I finally clocked a sub-10 minute mile again! It felt a lot harder than it used to though |
