Wow gorgeous pictures ITG and TM, I had my phone with me this morning but nothing of interest to take a photo of.

Only downside to an early start is I’ve dozed for nearly a hour in the summerhouse

Hot, but gentle 6 miles today. Still hunting deer herds, but they must be hiding.
Hit the 300 today - which I know is not much for some of you, but it is a few weeks ahead of schedule.

A few whiffs of smoke (to smell, not see) - west wind and possibly the same forest/moorland fire ar mentioned - but probably 30 miles away from here.

Todays pics - a typical forest view, an unintended snap as I was juggling water, camera and shirt, and then some spectators near the end. There were 2 more young calves behind the gorse, and two 'teenager'. Not sure how this cow drew the short straw to be on childcare duty.

I'm finding myself less and less connected to my running club and more to its sister Tri-club. I'll stay with the running club as there are some things it does that I like, but for day to day I'm focused on the Tri-club.

One of the things I noticed when I joined 8 years ago was that the running club didn't actually offer much in the way of training. One track session a week is pretty much it, whereas with the tri club, there is definitely a feeling that you are being stretched and developed if that's what you want. Running club is really just for social running which is fine. My old running club was much more focused. Neither one is better, just different.

Whereas I want a club that does social running, and doesn't operate solely via FB. Sorry repeating myself :)

I have a new club vest. It's too small. :-P I need a large.......must be my muscles..... :-P

I've been lucky that my old running club (Clowne) was brilliant, some excellent runners (including a couple of V England runners) but so welcoming and good training. The new one seems good although my first training run with them wasn't brilliant as they set off way faster than the agreed pace and kept waiting for us to catch up, before buggering off again. I'm assured they're usually good and they've been great under lockdown with some good events etc.

It's easier for us to cover more bases as we're a large club - 450+ members (not that I've ever met or even heard of half of them - we often wonder who these people are who sign up every year but then play no part in any club activity, be it racing or social running.)

I joined my club to do XC, then never managed to get to more than a couple. I’m not usually that keen on running in the evenings but they all seem very lovely, particularly the ones on here :)
Ran probably my fastest 5 miles in years this afternoon which ds2 was at tennis. Halfway through I developed horrific chafing from my shorts (which I wear a lot exercising at home!) but I couldn’t slow down because the loop I usually do was inaccessible due to a path resurfacing (it is a quagmire in wet weather so great they are doing it). Then I did kitchen rebound being careful not to let my thighs get anywhere near each other!!
Knackered now, and hot
