Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

4.5 miles done today in perfect conditions and the prospect of seeing Alfie as he finished his football meant 6 minutes quicker than the last time in July :-)

Physio happy with progress today so I’m allowed to start gentle(!) running :-)

Starting very light with 30secs plus walk back times 3. At least I won’t have a zero month on my log! Running every second day increasing reps to 5, 8 and 10. Then go to 1 min reps and increase along the same lines. Important thing is to monitor response. If it flares up then he wants a scan so fingers crossed it behaves.

TM - that was bad, about the car. I hadn't heard of catalytic converters being stolen off the very vehicle. Like having your clothes stolen while you're wearing them. I hope you get to Wales; Elder Daughter and her family were supposed to be coming, - booked into an Airbnb about a mile and a half from me - last weekend in October, but with the threat to close the border I don't know whether they will even try to get here. Added to which her younger daughter is required to take a week off school because someone in her class has tested positive.

Ferret - intrigued by the virtual physio session.

MM - that doesn't sound good at all. Can yiou get to consult an expert (of some suitable sort)?

Pyramid session with the running club. They did 1-2-3-4-5-5-4-3-2-1, while I did 1-2-3-4-4-3-2-1. This was better than last week, when I did 1-2-3-4-3-2-1. We started at 6pm, and finished in near-darkness though fortunately as the sky was clear and had the remains of a sunset in it, not in total darkness.

Knock on my door early afternoon; daughter of the man next door to me, visibly upset, to tell me he had died suddenly. Nothing to do with covid; it was a stroke. "A massive stroke" she said. One of those cases of a good way to go, but a terrible shock for the family. Feel a bit shaken; we were given to having long conversations over the fence, usually starting with gardening but might go on to almost anything else. Daughter didn't live with him, but was a frequent visitor.
