I'll try not to come down with pneumonia three weeks beforehand this time.

I just have to wait until I have some money so I can enter this stuff!

For 15 years I got £250 voucher plus three extra days leave (for that year only). Also got a lunch for my team.

I’ve just signed up to the jaw dropper 6 hour race in Walton on Thames. It is in 2 weeks and I get a medal as long as I run at least 3.28 miles (1/8 marathon).

Ran just over 9 miles doing alternating clockwise and anti-clockwise parkruns at Brockwell. Planned to do 18 miles but stopped for a loo break at 9 and realised I was actually shaking with cold so came home for a hot shower. Not sure what that was about, feel fine now and thought I was dressed appropriately.
Ran it all on the grass which was very muddy and it’s a hilly course so a good workout, anyway.

Off out shortly with OH to meet some
of his old workmates, one of whom is married to an ultra runner (Colin Searle, he’s done The Spine a few times and knows Ogee).

Good call Paula. It is way colder out there than it looks or I expected.

I froze cycling to parkrun, almost cried while timekeeping, biked to the gym without being properly able to use my hands, never warmed up during bodybalance, just about warmed up in the pool and a hot shower, then froze again on the bike home.

Currently sitting on the sofa watching the rugby wearing all my clothes, Mr Carp's huge fluffy dressing gown, and a blanket.

I ran Lon Las with Colin Searle. I dropped out with 150 miles to go but he finished.

Harrogate parkrun was cancelled because the ground got all chewed up last week when it was too boggy, plus we have to run ina different place while the crocuses are coming up. I was going to run anyway but the weather was rubbish so I did a spin class and some yoga at home. Will run tomorrow instead.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
