Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Morning all

*shakes fist at insomnia, bad weather, broken bits, annoying family members and everything else upsetting you guys*

Lem10 - I had a similar situation years back, I started at a new company and this guy used to constantly undermine me and say my job was pointless, I found out after a couple of weeks that he'd applied and not even been considered for interview - made dealing with his sniping a lot easier. I hope your colleague is over it by the time she comes back!

Off in a little while to meet running club peeps for lunch and then will be out for a club run this evening. Still managing to keep ahead of my "not 700" target :-)

Also shaking fists at insomnia, injuries & badly timed squally showers, nearly blown away but bike was so laden with shopping that I just hung on to it.
Last night, I tried a sleep meditation on 10%Happier app. & was even more awake than usual, maybe I need more practice (been trying meditation to reduce blood pressure as there doesn’t seem a physical cause, think headspace app is better).

ferret, the only time I've ever resorted to sleeping pills I couldn't sleep because I was so annoyed that it had got to that state! And I was worried about the side effects, the PIL had something about Bad Things happening if you were woken up during the night.

I cut my 3x6 min jog down to 2x6 min jog as back is niggling. It does not seem to be quite the same place as before but close enough that I won't take chances. Bah humbug.

Morning.
*wonders whether we're all having Blue Monday (or whatever yesterday was supposedly called) a day late*
Nothing particular to complain of here but feeling sympathy towards those suffering. Cruelly cold wind here, bringing gusts of rain and nearly-snow.

ITG, when mine were approximately the age yours are now, I used to arrive at my workplace feeling as though I'd already done a day's work just getting them breakfasted and off to school on time.

Columba, I get to work at 8am and the first thing I do is make a cup of chamomile tea.

Rest day today. Tweaky achilles from Sunday appears to be recovering quickly in spite/because of Body Balance & Spinning yesterday, though I did take relatively easy in both.

DS2 wanted to go out for a 1M run last night even though DD2 had already been. Wonders will never cease! So paced him round on a bike. The tables have officially turned. :-)

No tiny fist shaking here. Actually saw the first signs of dawn on my drive to the station this morning, so summer is coming :-)

I am tempted sometimes SK but there’s no point as by the time I’d give in & swallow one, it would be too too late. My main weapon is is sleep deprivation by never sleeping in.

Oh blimey, had forgotten it was Tuesday, that’s a first, thanks Columba

Not sure if any of you remember but we had a load of trouble with DS at school etc. Well today the brave man that got out of his van and punched him taking the law into his own hands was found guilty pleased as pinktinkbmc been worrying about this.

In other news physio exercises done about to go out for some intervals sun is out but cold.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
