You mean about the lack of beard in my gnome costume? Picture shows a beard, small print says doesn't contain beard. I've emailed Esther rantzan and Anne Robinson. Trading standards shutting eBay down as we speak. Or do you mean about the bog of doom/boobs and singing?

If you sing boobs arse loudly enough nobody will notice the lack of beard :) Not sure if anyone else has beards anyway, I just fancied one :) At least it might muffle the shrieking noises I usually make during HDS, the neighbours will be happy!

You didn't realise there was a bog? Oooh, I am *so* looking forward to your race report afterwards *cackles* :)

If you're taller than about 5'8" you will probably be able to walk through the bog. I suggest tying your shoelaces quite tightly as several parts of the course are keen on keeping shoes, maybe as a souvenir.

Take a complete change of clothes that you can put on very easily with frozen hands whilst shivering violently and not being able to stand on one leg. I suggest jogging bottoms, pants, at least two tshirts one long sleeved, a big hoody, thick socks, easy shoes, woolly gloves and a woolly hat and a waterproof jacket.

Make sure this is all in your bag at the top in the order you'll put it on after stripping off your cold wet stuff.
Trust me on this!

I so wish I was doing it, you'll all have a fantastic time :)

Tight shoelaces is a good shout. Being sucked off in a bog is a real risk.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2017 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Happy running :-)
