I was in the ridiculous position of being obliged to take my kids out (separately) biking, despite neither of them actually wanting to, to prevent World War III breaking out at my parents'. My mum had got little-tri-boy a new bike and would have been mortally offended if he hadn't used it but the forecast for the rest of my stay is rain. They probably did enjoy themselves in the end. Doesn-t-tri-boy cannot cycle because of (short version) baw-ache. I'm sure those of you with control-freak parents will understand... doesn't make my back any better though.
