Marathon plan sounds good LG, which one are you thinking of doing?

I love holiday plans, we have some stuff in the diary and need to book more!

*If* I do one it would be Inverness in September...plenty time to get this old body trained up. I have my room booked so just need to decide marathon or 10k.

Shocked to hear tonight of the death of a former Army colleague Henry Worsley, so close to the end of his 950 mile unsupported trek across Antarctica. A proper adventurer of the old school. Hard as nails Army officer who was charming and bloody grumpy in equal measures ;-). I think the latter came with being someone with a focus and determination the like of which I have rarely seen. Devastated for his family, but they were fully supportive of what he was doing and knew the risks. He died doing something that defined him and he went out 'with his boots on'. I can't imagine him wanting to go any other way. Swift & Bold.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2016 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

bunting and 700er medals are often spotted around here.

Happy running :-)
