Blimey. I haven't updated for a month, been a tad busy and not out for a beer, so not many to add, will do do tomorrow.

Dvorak, what is the difference between keg and cask?

Cask is real ale as per CAMRA, naturally carbonated by a secondary fermentation; and keg ale is generally pasteurised and filtered* with external CO2 added.

*although some craft kegs beers aren't.

(Cask ale also tends to come in nine-gallon containers; whilst keg is eleven-gallon: this isn't intrinsic to the difference though.)

I see. Thanks!

I'll stick with "draught" for my list...

Checking my list, it appears I have had 1001 different beers since joining untappd in Feb 2016, also been to my local 98 Times and had 194 different beers there....I feel there could be a blog coming on.

I think in view of that loyalty if you have 3 pints (or halves if a weekday perhaps) of different beers on your 99th visit and then 2 halves on the next visit they should then give you a pint of your 200th free! 200 beers on 100 visits would be excellent. Better than my ambition of trying to do my 50th volunteer role on my 100th parkrun for sure!

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
