I'm not playing this year, after finding I was pushing myself to get/stay ahead of a wholly arbitrary target for the last few years.

I have a question for those of you who are way ahead at the moment, and at least *some* miles above what would be your average monthly mileage from the last few years, do you think it's a sustainable approach, or are you bagging miles expecting things to even out over the year?

I have been over 2000 miles for 3 of the last 4 years. I try and make it my base-line so I think it's sustainable. I missed the target in 2018 by 33 miles due to an injury. I'm quite ahead at the moment as I have been marathon/ultra training and the focus this year is Endure24 as a pair so I will probably be a bit front end loaded.

oumaumau, I am well ahead at the moment but not bagging miles and my mileage will drop at least several times later in the year, maybe some weeks to zero. My monthly mileage is a function of running a couple of marathons a year and the necessary training plan for those. I will run roughly just over 2000 miles as a result but 2000 is not some kind of arbitrary target - I don't see the point in that (at least for me).

Oh this is definitely not a target for me, but probably about the annual total I will hit if I stay in one piece and complete my target races. Mileage is building at the moment but will probably drop in the summer.
