Congratulations on your 30th anniversary FF hope you have a fab week away (hope the weather improves, I’m regretting only packing summer clothes 🥶)

Well done on your long ride Scottdog that’s impressive & a great time.

Steve as LL said your pace may not be what you’d like it to be but the miles are still clocking up.

Talking of which best go and do my fetch virtual 4k, only 3m to do today to keep my numbers round.

Thanks gg...and I passed the half way mark on my five miler early this morning.
I remember you mentioning the over 70s group Jeffing hs. I'm on the Run/Walk thread here on Fetch and there are some very impressive Jeffers there too. I had the same experience and impression as you hs in my early 30s and a walk seemed cheating! Foolish thinking.
Of course in ultra events and mountain events it is not realistically possible to actually run a whole distance, unless you're in an ultra and something of

an elite. Certainly my wife in doing over a 100 miles in 24 hours on several occasions interspersed running with walking after many hours/miles. In the book " The Rise of the Ultra Runner" walk/run is taken as inevitable for most. I'm quite liking it currently even on my low miles!

I’ve always embraced walking in a run. I had terrible health issues from teens to 40’s, lost coins but I had 13/14 operations and times walking was a challenge so to be able to run at all im eternally grateful for. I don’t walk much these days on shorter runs but even an odd 10 step walk makes a difference. I think it’s why I enjoy the long stuff walking is acceptable esp on the ultra distances.

Well done GG and Steve, for passing the halfway mark.

I'd forgotten that I had previously mentioned the over 70's Facebook group re Jeffing Steve ☹️ I did run/walk during the South Downs marathon a few years ago. This was on the hills, where everyone was walking.

Sorry to hear about your terrible health problems in your younger days GG. Good that you are now able to run, and walk mainly on ultra distances.

Good luck LL with maintaining a green tick this month. Thanks, I did run this morning, and it was 4.67 miles in the forest with a running friend. It was at a very easy pace, with no walking 😀

Thanks everyone again, our actual anniversary was in April but our sons partner is a teacher and couldn't get time away on our anniversary, so we're celebrating with family late but had a few days away on our anniversary at the time.

Well done on your ride Scottdog.

Congratulations FF, hope you have had a good week.

Good running everyone.

2 miles in the sun this morning, was fine before it gets too hot. Slight niggle about 0.8 miles in but eased off. Getting there.

Well done Lesley, making good progress.

I'm feeling the effects of yesterday's run, so have decided to take a rest day. I'm having a pub lunch with a running friend in the village instead. This seems to be a superior alternative 🍺

You were obviously fixed up very well gg! Thank goodness all behind you now

Wise decision re a rest and a pub lunch hs if you were feeling the effects of that previous run. Hope all's a bit better now .
Glad the niggle wore off Lesley and that a couple of miles went ok

And what sunshine! Glorious morning here and warming up nicely as I turned home on my 10k. I run (well....run/walk these days) better as the thermometer rises, up to a point!
I don't seem to be getting anywhere in respect of improvement and for a few minutes during the effort I was resigning myself to days of future plodding 😂. If that's what it has to be, so be it but I'll still go for the thousands until It's impossible!
