Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

HS Sounds a lovely day and for a good cause which makes it even better.
I managed 8 and a bit miles after an evening with the foam roller and quad seems ok.
Was a little bit further and a bit quicker than I’d hoped so a happy bunny.

Glad you kept to the rules hs!! What an outing of thirty people in s superb environment, indeed, sounds special.
An evening with a foam roller is a new take on entertainment LL😂 Good eight miler there.
Weights, stretches and....no run as planned after yesterday's poor effort. It's wet out there so not quite so disappointed! I'll slip down the leaderboard a bit but overall I only need 15 miles a week to get the 1,000!

LL, it was a lovely day yesterday and the breakfasts raised £300.00.
Well done running 8 miles after a session with a foam roller, and glad that the quad was ok.

Steve, weights and stretching is a good substitute for a run. I'm sure that you will meet your 1000 mile target, plus a few more.

This morning the Monday club ran 7.51 miles in the forest. It was very wet and muddy. I'm afraid that I "paid the price" for running with the fast group yesterday. We were split into groups according to ability, and I had to run really hard to keep up with them. I really struggled this morning and had to walk at times. My heart rates reflect the after effects, average 163, max 200. I've never reached that level before. Tomorrow is definitely a rest day.

200 hs! You must have some confidence to push it that high. Is it safe-- as far as anyone can be sure? I'd be scared if mine reached into the 170s now.

Second morning not running; weights and stretches and then read about a 12 year old girl who has broken her own 5k world record again...16 minutes 20 odd seconds! That's shifting.

Wonder why there are so few 1000 threaders at the moment? Not that many on 1500 one either although more than here.

Steve, I hadn't realised my HR was that high, but the fact that I was running so slowly, must have been the after effects from the previous day. My actual stats for Sunday are average 150, max 173. I take 168 as being my "actual max," and very seldom reach it. I think it meets the theory that high rates are reached when we are tired, or "a bit under the weather." I never exceed the 168 during Saturdays 5k's, of which I've done 73 on consecutive Saturdays.

Very impressive 5k by that 12 year old girl. My target since not a parkrun has been sub 26 minutes, but I will be doing less speed work and more LSD runs, as I'm marathon training.

Just seen your latest post Steve and I was thinking the same thing. Some of the regular posters transferred to 1500 mile thread which accounts for some of the loss.
It's the same on the Mature Runners thread on Runners World, only 4 of us regularly posting.

Managed to get almost 8 miles in today. Almost 3 during a PT session. Done in boxing gloves. Circuits of boxing in between done in a trail circuit in the woods.

Then ran 5 to get home. Means I can have a day off tomorrow. Needed as feel tired.

I hadn't thought about tiredness and an elevated HR hr, that fits into my issue I think. Glad you mentioned it. I ran what I call "well" this morning after two days rest. Target of 26 mins for npr sounds good to me..good luck with marathon training now though.
What a session you had LL! Wearing boxing gloves while running ..😂..!! Yeah, take a rest day now.
That mini exodus to the 1,500 thread might well have been because I grumbled about "way" over achievers. Didn't want to be rude or offend but some of those reached the 1,000 a couple of weeks ago so it didn't make real sense to stay here really.
