It's 13 miles, how about the bakers' dozen? That'll confuse the kids

In the style of the Ironman 70.3, some American events seem to be being branded as 13.1 marathons. Which is appalling
(Trail, yes. Not "WR recognised" yes. Down a mountain, yes, as long as you don't roll down. As part of a 70.3... on balance, yes).

I like the idea of aiming for 100 HMs - although having only done one and that very slowly it may take me a while to get there!
Baker's dozen is a much better name than a half

Yes, I know they hurt. Closest thing I've done is race the Train at 14miles & that hurt a bit.
Whats wrong with calling it a half? Sounds like your embarrassed about it.

my 12 in 12 halfs will take my lifetime total to 26.
I'd done 14 before this year and doing 12 in 2012 - the 12 in 12 bit - is doing almost a lifetimes worth in a year. I am only counting races described as a half - nothing longer counts ie a 14 miler wouldn't count

Celebrated my 30th HM with a 12 minute PW. Revised my estimate to 2026. I should be managing over three hours by then.
