As with GF, felt good between 3M and 8M so pushed on. Took until almost the end of Fulbridge Road to overtake the first woman. Slowest mile by far was bizarrely immediately before overtaking John. We reckon my subsequent 5:19 was about 20s quicker than his, which he pulled back on in the last mile - an incredible effort.
Thought after overtaking John (and I thought the two Watts twins) that I was top local so I probably didn't go for a time as much as I should have done after this. But I guess they must have another lookalike as Glen was ahead.
The raw stats (just for Marts): Through 5M in about 27:05 according to markers - beat my official PB. 10km must have been approx 33:30 - pretty much my PB before this year. 10M in about 54:05 (PB is 57:21) Really struggled at the end and didn't finish with my usual speed but I hardly died - last 5km was about my PB before this year!
Two more senior club records left to get - both achievable but very tough on the Bushfield and Fenland courses.
I've had enough of racing, though. I'd rather take it easy for a bit, step up the training and then take another chunk out of my times in the spring.

Fanatastic run Paul:) You've done you self out of 5s as well. Official results say 70:55. The fast runs in training seem to be making massive impact.

Well done Paul. You must have done a fantastic second half, when I saw you, you were quite a bit behind John.
