About this parkrun
A proper out and back 'trail run'- stunning location, small field of runners, extremely welcoming. Surprisingly road shoes are fine as long section over slippery cobbles. Course measures long (3.32 miles) as is a semi permanent 'alternative route'twinny 2nd Mar 2019
New route since last review - Now a Y-shaped out and back - flat start - up a bit - turn left at Y- downs and ups to turnaround point - back to Y - left again to highest point of the route - then back down to Y again and left back to the finish.

Flat for half a mile then 2 miles of up and down on uneven surfaces. A long run flat to the finish. Very scenic and highly recommended if you enjoy a challenge.

A stunning location and very friendly small team greated us here. Part of run along reservoir on mixed but mainly good paths. Lots of elevation with lovely views.

A beautiful location which gives a tough parkrun. Free parking but no toilets.

Back to the original, & better, Y-shaped course: 370 ft of ascent, varied terrain incl rough paths & slippy cobbles. Brilliant, small, friendly event. Fantastic views across the hills to Manchester and over the Pennines (unless the clag is down!).
