Jim7 A fair bit faster than expected for first race. Especially as arrived late and started right at the back.

Mal My first distance race since I was at school! Apart from arriving slightly late, and starting right at the back and getting stuck in 'traffic', had a pretty good run. Was starting to struggle towards the end of the 2nd lap, and my mate James dropped me at this point, but battled on and finished way under my expected time - I thought at absolute best I'd get 45 mins. Extremely pleased, and obviously it's a personal best as it's the first time I've raced over this distance! (My official time was 00:43:42, but I refute this, as it took ages for us to cross the start line, and we were massively held up in the first few minutes. I started my stopwatch as I crossed the start line, and that's where I've taken my time from).

Musical Journey Scorhing heat made this a very uncomfortable race so was relatively pleased with the time.
