PhilB66 Decided to stick with the 'official' event rather than join those doing the course on the original date (20-Dec-2009). Will still be my first event longer than a half marathon! Garmin time: 4:14:48 (official certificate time 4:17). Garmin distance: 25.89 miles (and I did a bit longer than I should have due to a couple of uncertainties regarding route, so this was definitely shorter than the advertised 26 miles). Carried more than I needed to - pack still weighed 5Kg at the end with majority of fluid drunk - but this was good training for Saunders and Lakeland 50. Very pleased to have beaten my prediction by so much on my first event of this type.
