About this parkrun

2 laps in the lovely Lydiard park starting near the mansion house. one gentle slope on each lap but mostly flat
The Mussile 8th Jan 2019

Very good run this, my first parkrun, nice paths, very good surroundings, can be windy/exposed in winter, café open theses days, bigger numbers than back in the day so parking could be problematic.

Nice parkrun, but very exposed to any kind of weather elements. There is a big bottleneck at the start but soon opens up as the paths are wide. You need to pay to park. Volunteers help to maximise parking spaces. Very friendly.

The course is 2 laps and quite fast and flattish on hard packed paths, can get pebble dash effects when wet on the legs. Wind can make it feel a harder effort some days. Pacers every week - 20, 22, 25, 27, 32, 35, 40 and 45 mins so caters for all.
RFJ 30th May 2019

Busy 2 lap course - competitive - good tarmac course with PB potential.

Currently £2.10 to park for two hours. If looking for somewhere to stay nearby, you might want to try Lydiard House Hotel, right by the parkrun and in fabulous grounds. Being refurbished, but looks like they are taking bookings from 1st May 2023

Very congested at the start so advise moving to the front if trying for a PB. 2 laps on gravel paths. Wasn't impressed with the 30min pacer when I went; couldn't keep up with him, then he stood just before the finish waiting for the clock!

2 lapper on sometimes uneven hard packed gravel paths. Slightly undulating with a slight uphill at the end of each lap. Toilet near start, cafe has a parkrun discount. Loads of parking.
chunkyblizzard 6th Jan 2024

Two laps on a triangular course with a small hill all on gravel paths. Can be very wet in winter and congested at the start any time. Good car park, loos and cafe near the start.
