daviec Much tougher course than I expected even after warnings. Lots of up and down all the way. Hit halfway at my target 19.30 and was hoping to make up a minute on the second half of the course. The next 2 k were perfect clocking a 3.46 and a 3.42, but then more uphills put me back a good bit. Managed a reasonable last k of 3.50 but overall a poor 39.02. I could blame the heat and the hills but I would still have thought mid 38 was on here . Got an even split on what should be a negative split course so need to work on maintaining the effort in the 2nd half. Average Hr was 188. Finished 12th, was third counter for Girvan to sneak the team prize by 1pt from Irvine. Not all bad then :)

Girvan Ruth Enjoyed this race. Well organised and a great route. Legs were sore between mile 1 and mile 3, but felt great after that.

Sunbed Athlete Took 3rd place & also helped my 2nd cliam team to 1st Team prize alnog with Rosscob & Daviec.£10 Asda voucher for 3rd place & another £10 voucher for the Team prize.
Ran most of the race with Tommy Hearle, like myself past winner, but knew he was & still is a talented runner.Race winner David Millar opened up a gap straight from the gun & we never got a chance of getting near him.Tommy opened a gap @ 6k but streched that gap on the last hill @ 8k & deseverdly took 2nd place 12 secs ahead of me.
Great we race.Tough climbs with good downhill bits also.Well organised/marshalled race which the Kilmarnock Harriers guys/gals should be proud of.
