Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Sunbed Athlete Won the race by a clear 8 mins. Was sitting steady @ 5 & 1/2 min mileing after the I went thru the 1st 2 miles in 4:53 & 5:08 but other runners were saying the markers were slightly out fot @ least the 1st 5 mile.On the return home the wind was pretty stiff which slowed me down slightly. Was hoping to be under 72 mins but might have to wait til Glasgow for that to happen if it happens at all.Got trophy,bt of whisky & £50 in Asda vouchers as they are sponsoring the race for 3 years.Again well marshalled & organisied.

connelld A personal course best although, that was not the plan. Went out feeling relatively poor but helped on by Girvan's Stephen and John. I saw Hill runner Chris in my sites and ran majority of run with him. A pattern started where he would run past me on the downs and flat and I would catch up on the uphill. After 10 mile ave 7 min miles, decided to go for below 1:30. Went by davidc in last gew miles and behind Al Murray for a long time before just getting by him and Stevie Connell on the last half mile. Paying for it big time now.

daviec New PB, perfect run and stuck to pace plan quite well. The hill between 9 and 10 was murder as usual but I made it up and felt good coming back the last 3 miles, but the breeze slowed me down a bit. Dug in for a sprint finish only to find out I'd missed out on the first local prize by 24 seconds. Consoling myself with the PB. Maybe next year.

Siouxsie First road half marathon....no idea how it will be, would just like to finish. Review on RW states ' almost no flat'...great! :-( Good training for Loch Ness, again.
*update* This was a tough, hilly course and the last three miles were into a headwind too. Race report will be blogged...
