Alex Patton 5th/230 - Bloody brilliant! Equivalent to about 9 mins quicker than last year but there was some good quality at the sharp end this time around. Absolutely perfect conditions for racing - bright, warm sunshine, no wind but a nice cool air temperature. The views were stunning and seeing a herd of stags leaping across the path at close quarters was pretty special. Started steadily (about 14th at the top of the first climb) as usual and then really worked the downhills. Worked well with a chap up Dunkery Beacon and then took about 5 places on the section down to Wooton Courtney to put me into 5th. Last half an hour was pretty lonely, but who cares!
