Gobi Early season 40 miler at an easy pace just for a little time on the feet exercise. Anyway there is navigation so I will probably get lost. First things first, TMW your soul is mine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, onto the race. Ran with Colin and Snap for the first 20 miles before Snap headed for the end. LIGHTWEIGHT. It was the longest I have been moving since Comrades as Colin and I kept up a relentless and steady pace for the 40. During the second half people went backwards. It's not really that tough a course, it has a few good hills but nothing heart stopping. The purpose of the exercise was achieved and I confess that I found the slow pace quite uncomfortable during the latter stages but having gone that far with Colin running off was never an option. TBH it was great to do a controlled pace training run. I should also say that the organisation and marshalling was spot on even as the weather got worse. Oh and the wind on the downs was really bad!!!!! I HATE RAIN
