Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hollywoof! Life really didn't want me to do this one. But somehow I found myself in Compton School within a few minutes of the start. Standing at the car, I couldn't believe how cold it was and I couldn't believe the snow... I dropped all ideas about running in shorts and a pirate monaco... then discovered that I had packed leggings, a long sleeve breathable and a long sleeve ski fleece for post race clothing. I quickly put them all on - then added a windproof, some gloves and a buff. And not once did I feel too hot....

Finally I got to the startline at 9:10 - 10 minutes behind everyone else had left.... and started off on a lap of the field... discovered it was very slippy under foot - maybe I should have worn my trail shoes?

Left the sports field and started the cross country... had quite an easy trail to follow - 300 people had churned up the mud ahead of me... snow was driving into and across me...

Windsurfin' Susie Tough! Snow for first hour or so, then sun, gales, horizontal hail - the works. Should have eaten more!

Jonny My favourite race of the year. Much tougher due to slippery conditions this year. Did not feel well through the night before this race, slight sore throat, snuffly nose, stomach pains but didn't want to miss this. Battled through sleet, snow, hail stones. Took it easy and just enjoyed it. Legs felt ok up to the first vertical climb at 11 miles. From there on in it was a struggle. Looking forward to next years event.

RFJ Nice and slow plod, up and down dale Just completed the Compton 20m, a Total planned PW, ran with RichK, Gobi who was pacing Snaps, well we had a ball, havnt ever had so much fun running 20 miles, it was loud, funny and bl**dy cold, someone invited the snow, and the kissing gates, tried to pucker up but lips were to cold......! We got to the end in very high spirits around 3:57. Would have been quicker had we not had so much fun but that would have spoilt the day, Snaps took loadsa piccys on route, so there may be some comprimising pohots available soon.....

so 33 Miles in 2 days is probably a record for me, that will get broken next week at therapy session No 4 at Crawley......
