Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Enigma Phew what a scorcher.
I've not seen the heatwave that was supposedly baking the country until tonight in Bridge of Earn for the Brig Bash.
Too hot for me, but a PB (never done this distance before ;) ).
Great home baking after the race, well worth doing and thoroughly enjoyable even if it was too hot.

EyeSpy21 After running Strathallan, I was told do the Brig Bash 5, flat and fast. After recent 10Ks I was hopeful of sub-39... until I saw the weather!! First mile on target, then downhill from there. Just too hot for me. I'll never be a summer racer. Glad to report no niggles, but my legs were just so tired before I even reached 2 miles. Good to see fellow Fetchites running and marshalling. Lovely route, smashing wee race with great cakes... they just need to start it at 10pm or move it to November!!

Fat Boy Slightly disapointed with my time as I was hoping for a sub 27.30 but pleased to finish 6th overall and win the team prize. It was so hot that virtually everyone's times were a bit slower with a few of my club mates suffering quite badly in the heat. Once again I had a good battle with Magoo and for once managed to finish ahead of him!

Plussing As Which Pleased considering I could hardly walk at lunch time! Leg did ease off, but I took it steadily - no choice really in the heat! Time gives me something to aim for next year as I'll certainly be back to sample more of the home-baking!

SueW Disappointed to miss running sub 40 on my first 5 miler, but... with hindsight, I shouldn't have run at all. My achilles felt tight in the warm up and got worse during the race. In fairness though, I didn't really notice it during thee race - the discomfort of the heat blocked it out! Afterwards, I was limping badly. I ended up not able to run for a full 2 months.
