Littleclown Time taken more from garmintrude as missed the start (note to self it's like a herd stampede so narrowly missed being run over). As this was our first attempt Im fairly happy, was knackered before I started due to being a bit late and running down to the start line. After cursing for the first 1.5k I eventually get into some sort of rhythm before catching up with a young girl with a bad stitch in tears so some motherly instinct kicked in and we stayed together doing a run walk (only for her to beat me over the finish line!).
Will probably be back for another go at some point but next challenge is a weekend in Spain followed by a Santa dash or 2! Oh anyone thinking of going it's a nice park with a few sneaky hills and tree roots but well worth a try, and visit the cafe as they do REALLY nice cake!

About this parkrun

Ages since I did this one, I only owned road shoes in those days and they were fine. Undulating route through the park. I remember enjoying it! :)

Feb 2016 - 2 laps with a few small hills, mixture of tarmac and trail.

2 laps, twisty turny, difficult to pass, can be very crowded, I think it is the oldest in't north, run like a well oiled machine, can be a bit crowded, very fast at the front, nice coffee van at the end. Good run, lovely park.

Lovely park. £1 for a couple of hours parking, app payment available.
Bramble 25th Jun 2022

Two laps of an undulating Park with all sorts of different surfaces to negotiate. Can get very packed and that means not a lot of room to run in.

run number 666 today so it was extremely busy, over 500 people but the team dealt with it without any trouble. Varying surfaces, little muddy in places. Plenty of parking, cafe with table service and a lovely old house to look at. Lovely place.
Mandyr 26th Nov 2022

The granddaddy of all parkruns in the NW of England. A friendly busy two lap parkrun approx 50% tarmac and 50% trail (sections can get muddy following wet weather but road shoes usually OK). No buggies or dogs permitted. There are loos at the cafe.
