Boab Delighted to come 3rd and our club won the mens team prize. Quite a tough first 7 miles, with varying surfaces and fairly hilly, then it was onto the ski road back to aviemore, mostly downhill apart from the last mile....boy that last mile was hard. Probably the most scenic route for any UK half marathon, the surroundings are simply stunning and we had a crisp sunny October morning for it was well. Superbly organised for a first running.
3 seconds outrside my PB, but considering the course profile and surfaces, I reckon there is at least 30 to 40 seconds of improvement in me since my last half marathon.

jp105 A brilliant race - lovely course and great weather. Felt good in the initial 7 miles or so however the transition from soft trails to hard road hurt my legs. Prhaps a littile fatigue from yesterdays cross country. Was in 4th position for the majority of the race behind BOAB but lost a place in the final half mile and came 5th. Big well done to BOAB who had a great run finishing on the podium! I will return next year for this race for sure.

Plussing As Which Fantastic race through a wonderful part of the country. Spent most of miles 1 to 11 worrying that I was going too fast. As it turned out I wasn't but the extra long 12th mile just about destroyed me mentally! However, managed to get back on track and knock about 5 mins off previous PB. Only negative is that the organisers appear to have made a mess of the results - a number of disgruntled runners out there with minutes added to their times....

Enigma Fantastic! Really pleased with my time in my first 13.1 miler. The weather was great, the route interesting and fun. Good support strung out along the course.
There were a few hiccups 12 mile marker, strange times in the official results. However overall it was great and very well organised as the inaugural running of this race.
Roll on next year.
My running year was built around this race including joining Carnegie Harriers, now I need to find something else to focus on.

SueW Glorious course. Achilles felt tight on the hills/undulations so I didn't push on those. Felt like I'm on the way back after weeks/months of achilles problems

Debstir I had secretly been hoping to get another sub-2hr in this race - and managed to knock 7 minutes off my 3yr PB!! Although I think in all honesty this has been short-measured so I'm not going to enter my time (which according to Garmin was 1:51:16). Probably the most scenic race I've ever done and a bit tough in places. The first half at least was forest tracks & trails so I was constantly watching my footing; pity I didn't in the last half mile and managed to go over on my ankle thanks to a sneaky wee tree root! The last mile was a killer - too many uphills! First time this has been run and it was very well organised - even got a bar of Dairy Milk in my goodie bag!!
