RG Postie (RGP) Why is it I can never sleep before a race ? It's not as if I'm ever nervous about them, anyway,a short journey along the motorway to Dorney for this very flat race,if you want a PB for a 10k I'd say this was the place, but not for me today,I didn't run a bad race but I know I could've pushed harder,I ran the first 2k in 8:30 but then at around 2.5K I got a really sharp pain in my hip/lower back area,I physically limped the next K and seriously considered dropping out,I limped that K in about 6:10,strangely the pain disappeared as quickly as it came,I ran the rest of the race at 4:30-4:40 K pace.
It was good to see Puffing Bertie at the start, again as we passed each other in opposite directions and finally as she crossed the finish line.
All in all I'm pleased with my time,it's a good flat run, ideal for PB's,a little boring maybe, and that boathouse at the end of the course never seemed to get any closer on the final 2.5K home straight ! !

smiley broadling This time confirms that the Cancer UK 10 at West Wycombe Park was short of the full 10k because this course was flat as a pancake so I should have beaten my Cancer UK time - but didn't!
