NDWDave Nov 2022 8:20am, 29 Nov 2022 17,662 posts	0 NDWDave This weekend was Ogee’s Copthorne races - 10 mile loops (races 50k to 100m). I entered the 100m using a volunteer place from last year. It is a Surrey hills loop with 2,200ft of climbing including ascent and descent of box hill. First 3.5 loops were stunning with great weather and underfoot conditions. Then it got dark, rainy, foggy, and muddy. 15 hours of darkness Then missed a turning on lap 6 making it a 13 mile loop…. Sunrise end of lap 8 and the night had cleared out the field and only 7 left out 30 starters. I finished 5th in 31:18 with just 42 minutes to spare
