is that ^^ good?

The majority of results being reported seem to be 3, 4 or 5 attempts.

I think someone mentioned collating the results reported here, although I'm not sure how easy that would be.

If you play regularly, the wordle site will report your own cumulative scores.

Would be cool to see the stats distribution for all players so far that day, I'd estimate a smallish % fail to solve each puzzle (and I doubt they are generally keen to show everyone their failure, that's just human nature)

Has anyone actually failed a day?

Yes I failed yesterday, though that was mostly because I rushed. I couldn't think of a word with the correct letters so duplicated some knowingly incorrect ones, then on the final guess as I had the sudden realisation of the first letter I rushed the answer, if I'd checked I'd have known it was wrong.

TRO - I did the day it had a duplicate letter (Banal) as I thought each letter could only appear once

Having played a couple of weeks now I view 6 guesses as a fail/below par, 5 guesses as par, 4 or less guesses as success or a birdie etc in golf-speak.

So I'm going to score myself:
Fail = +2
6 guesses = +1
5 guesses = 0
4 guesses = -1
3 guesses = -2

I'm going to score like that from now until the end of the month, see if I can score less than zero.

11 Jan: score -1 (starting with yesterday's 6/+1 and today's 3/-2)

Should make it interesting.....

Interesting, TROSaracen . I was wondering about what might constitute a "par" score. I guess you could equally well choose to set it at 4 guesses, which would have the effect of making it more challenging to achieve an "under par" cumulative score. But your approach is good.

[I've never understood why, in everyday language, "under par" means not good, whereas in golf (and maybe now Wordle too) it is a good thing. Anyone know?]
