Quite a lot of promising interaction with a POF potential date. Have spoken on the phone today not set a date yet. First time I’ve been excited about a date this time round.

HF, go for the first interview. Then, if they invite you for the second one, you have a better idea if you actually want this job. If so, go for the second interview and presentation. You can still say no after that. But... Any scope in talking to whoever decides on your current job? They may want to reveal their plans for you if they know you may be leaving? Also, they owe you some form of insight into your future, surely?

I talked to my principal on Tuesday and she told me to go for the interview. They did have plans for my future, but they were not plans that I wanted to accept. They don't seem to have any plan B, which is where all the uncertainty comes from.
There is a saying here, "What's for you won't go by you." I'll go to the interview and see what happens.

Very timely. I looked at a flat last night. It was lovely but it wasn't a garden flat. Location good too. Something about it didn't feel completely right but I felt I had to offer and had the offer accepted. It was perfectly nice but I think the initial feeling of potential isolation was telling me something. I need to not be locked away at the top of a building. I want to hear neighbours in their houses and I like the sounds of kids and dogs playing in gardens nearby. I'm going to take a breather and live a bit more by the motto just quoted. I've had too much going on. I haven't been able to grieve for Mum or spend much time with Dad. Work has ramped up and the managers accept we're all very stretched. If they don't let me reduce to part-time, I'm going to leave and do bits of work here and there. A former boss has been in touch and wants me to come and work for her flexibly. I can probably just about manage if I can stay lodging with my pal. I'll also be able to visit family in Scotland with Dad and ensure we keep links going. I feel that's so important at the moment.

RS sounds like you have the right idea there. You do need time to grieve, also to spend time with your dad and family. Never rush into buying something when you are not 100% grounded, it will be the wrong place... The right place will come along at the right time, which is probably not now...

Are you watching the TdY this year, Meglet. I'm going to watch them go up Park Rash on TV, then cycle pver to the Chevin. Hopefully to get there before they do.

Yup, I made it, great atmosphere.
They did make Park Rash look easier than I remember.
Roll on 2019 and the world championships!
(On a side note, did you watch Keeping Faith, I think it's on BBC iplayer now (buut not for long). I ask because it has a dentist in it...
