the only thing that might hinder that is space on the bus Ian..but being localish could you get a lift to the start? Even if you couldnt but could drive yourself to the start, I could run you back to the start on my way home, but I am doing the marathon so you may have to wait a bit
I am also making flapjack :)..made huge batches for sandstone trail this weekend, freezing a heap to bring to WP

Just had a recipe for toblerone cookies (gluten free) so will try them today as they sound like great carb loading fodder

Yes Clairster - it is as follows:
250g plain GF flour 150g toblerone (or any choc choc really) 75g butter 75g caster sugar (or brown sugar) 1 medium egg - beaten 1 tbsp cocoa 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda 2 tbsp milk
Oven 180/gas mark 4 Chop chocolate into little bits (eat at least 2 triangles yourself) Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy gradually beat in the egg and flour (mixed with the cocoa) Dissolve the bicarb in the milk and add to the creamed mixture Pull mixture together with hands (quite sticky) and roll into a long sausage shape Cut into 16 equalish bits Roll into balls and squish into cookie rounds Place onto greased paper on baking tray Bake for about 12 - 15 minutes until just firm to touch Cool on tray before storing in airtight container
Better the next day I felt - they don't freeze
Enjoy
