I was sitting in the sun at lunch and a nearby chap was pumping out plumes of sickly smelly vapour out. Later passed an actual smoker and it smelled so much better. I think my sense of smell is banjaxed... |

Parkwalk is fine if they can do under 50 minutes. It is not a parkstroll. My wife walks the parkrun in about 42 minutes beats some runners. |

At Witney we’ve had walkers rehabilitating following operations and they’re very welcome even if they are taking 60+ minutes. |

parkrun is my happy place and as I am currently unable to run, when I’m not volunteering I am walking it, and I will continue to do so. I can’t always get under 50 minutes (that’s a reasonable clip!) but I’m walking with purpose and I don’t see an issue with that

I’d love to get under 45 minutes, my best is just under 47. My dad walks it in 38 minutes and I just can’t get my head round that.

I have no issue with people walking at parkrun (usual caveats about not taking the piss). I have an issue with the parkwalk role, particularly with tourists emailing on a Friday or turning up on a Sat and asking to do the role. I have an issue with people getting a volunteer credit for something that they would be doing anyway and that I can't see the value of.

PS I walked last week in 50 mins. It's the role that's the issue for me. Sorry if I upset anyone; it wasn't my intention.
