Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My leg.

However I do have a minor race gripe and will probably upset someone but here goes ;)

Every race I've been to there's been a number of people who run fast as they can, go red faced, look like they're going to collapse. Then walk. Then run fast as they can, look like they need medical help, then walk.

Now I don't think there's anything wrong with a run - walk plan to get round. That's not my gripe, could be very sensible. However these people often don't look like they have much experience or done much training, judging from the I need a medic look. Secretly I do wonder to myself if maybe running slower and more steady won't leave them in a better state. Each to their own tho, they're having a try and that's great. Who am I to tell them how they should run. Run - walk is not my gripe.

Seen this most at all women events and fair play, probably often those who've started running for the event. Probably thought they'd walk most but get a buzz and run most they can. Been there myself. Again that's not my gripe.

It's often working as they do the same speed as myself LOL just approaching it in a different way.

This leads me to my gripe.........

It's when there's a pack who all know each other and all doing the same thing. They're running, you're running then they suddenly STOP a big wall of them. Right in front of me. So I try and plod around, takes a while to pick out the route and overtake. Few mins later and they're on me, overtaking. Then they STOP and have to do the overtaking thing all over again.

Can they not form a neat orderly line? ;) 2 abreast at the most please ;)

Yes PH no rant against run walkers, it's mainly the wall of people all doing the same and taking up the entire path. What I need to do is learn to run faster so they don't keep catching me up LOL
