The frozen raspberries I bought from Tesco are grown in Serbia! Never knew Serbia was a big raspberry grower.

If Sweden played Denmark at football (in Sweden), their abbreviated names (next to the score at the top of the screen) would read SWE-DEN. The letters which remain from each country name spell DEN-MARK.

Actually, no. I shamelessly stole it from somewhere else but I can't remember where! I hadn't been able to wheel out this fantastic bit of worthless trivia until I saw the title of this thread ...

And while we're at it ... Hugo Boss designed and supplied uniforms to the Nazi party in the 1930's and 40's. He was also a member of the Nazi party. My other half told me this and I scoffed ... then Googled ... then apologised. |

Nice Swe-Den there Mr Celt. Or should we just call you Filthy? Where that that Hugo Boss thing come up though? It was in the pub quiz on Tuesday. It was a true or false and we got it wrong as I also scoffed, thinking of this: funnyordie.com |

About Schuttberg and Trümmerberg. They translate as "debris mountain" and "rubble mountain", the latter being a specific kind of the former, generally made after the clearance of post WW2 rubble. Berlin, unsurprisingly, has several. It chimes actually with my last blog - should any largish scale thing of the the Cambridge area be scheduled for demolition, that could be the basis of the " runner's hill". (I reached there through a wikichain - McGoohan's blog led me to search for Boxhagener (Straße), which is in Friedrichshain, a feature of which is Volkspark Friedrichshain, which contains two Trümmerbergen.) |

uk storm names are chosen long in advance and i no longer have to try to 'guess' the name of the next one as there is a list tropical storms are prenamed on a 6 yr cycle - but are retired if they are particularly devasting |
