I've been to Asda today and they didn't play it! At home for the rest of the day so hopefully I'll be able to stay in a Wham free zone! 😂

Sigh-lent Night
Here's a midday(ish) update.

With just six days to go (including today), we have:

14 declared safe yesterday (and still in)
3 still to declare
5 MIA's (although that includes Fetch who did say he wasn't really playing)
49 out

I've also done a sneak preview of the purple "winner" status, if anyone actually survives that long! No pressure :-)

I have done all the risky stuff... Apart from pucking up my bread and pastry order in Hay on Thursday...
So safe today for sure.
I doubt they will play it at the funeral and wake tomorrow or at the Mari Llywd on tuesday...

Thanks Sigh.

Should be a risk free day today. Not planning on going anywhere.

After the craziness and hysteria of last weeks F1, watching the relatively calm and safe snooker.

Christmas music in Sainsbury’s but I only realised when I stopped my audiobook at the till.

Luckily it was the beginning of Slade and I was out before the next song came on.

Yorkshire Mince Pie
Cafe for lunch was safe. Christmas music on radio 1 on the drive home (it always defaults to that when we start the car, then we switch to something else) but not that one.

Not Mushroom at the Inn
Still going. I'm listening to my own playlists for the most part, so I know I'm going to be ok. Steve Wright gave a warning earlier that he was going to play it, so I retuned to some classical music instead.

I've got a couple of shopping trips lined up on Mon & Tues so it might happen, but it wouldn't be so bad now I've got to the last week, I'm more receptive to actually hearing it..!

About This Thread

GOOGLE SHEET HERE:

docs.google.com

Sheet for 2024 is on the first tab; you update your own entry. As with previous years, we're also tracking the number of repeated 'hits' for those who are out before the end (if you want to).

Who's up for the challenge then? whamageddon.com

"The 1st Rule
The objective is to go as long as possible without hearing WHAM's Christmas classic; "Last Christmas".

The 2nd Rule
The game starts on December 1st, and finishes at the end of December 24th.
Use your local timezone, if you'd like.

The 3rd Rule
Only the original version applies.

The 4th Rule
You're out as soon as you recognise the song.

Player vs Player?
While we can't stop you from deliberately sending your friends to Whamhalla, the intention is that this is a survival game. Not a Battle Royale. So ... don't be a dick, okay?"
